APHRODITE criteria for male infertility diagnosis, prognosis and management

Continuing Medical Education (CME)

14 March - 11 April - 3 october 2025

Overview

Key information exploring male infertility and utilizing the APHRODITE criteria would be presented in preceptorship format, involving pre-recorded video lectures and local case presentations (given live). Andrology, the branch of medicine concerned with male sexual and reproductive health, emerged as a specialty at the end of the nineteenth century. However, only in the latter half of the past century was andrology recognized as one of the most intriguing sub-specialties of human reproduction. The demand for andrologists and reproductive urologists is increasing but there are insufficient experts to keep pace with requirements. The scope of modern andrology covers a broad spectrum, from genetic studies to assisted reproduction techniques, and there is a clear need to update healthcare professionals in these aspects. This preceptorship will offer urologists, gynecologists, embryologists, andrologists and scientists working in ART opportunities to learn the tools to implement reproductive andrology in a fertility center. Participants will be guided by international experts through lectures, debates and interactive discussions. Apart from providing new insights into male infertility, this educational activity will guide a live journey through a modern centre specializing in male reproductive health. The virtual preceptorship features pre-recorded lectures that will be released before live sessions (practical sessions in three ‘host’ clinics). In their own time, participants will view the video lectures, review recommended literature, and complete MCQs (which are set as part of the online video lectures) before the live session. Each live session provides practical, in-depth learning and will engage a group of participants who have prepared locally relevant case studies and questions. The selected case studies/questions are presented to the whole group and discussed by the host Clinic team. During the preceptorship, users will be able to visit the chatroom to discuss and debate topics relevant to the optimal clinical management of each case.
